At CAHC, you will have a very unique experience for your child and family. We are a family-centered office and we work hard to understand the medical, social and emotional needs of your child and your family. We maintain a smaller staff to ensure that your child or children are allowed the most time possible directly with their physician. This one to one relationship helps us to understand your child and family on a more personal level and allows your child to establish a trusted relationship with his or her pediatrician.
Please see the information about CHADIS and consider registering your child so we can be sure to discuss any and all concerns that you may have about your child at the time of your child's routine office visits.
LACTATION RESOURCES
Prenatal services: Breastfeeding Basics
Breastfeeding Basics is taught by International Board of Lactation Consultants and is for expectant and new parents. Learn the basics of lactation, including proper latch-on, infant feeding cues, positioning and how to establish a good milk supply. Enrollees are encouraged to bring a support person to class.
This class is currently being offered as a live webinar so you will be able to interact with the instructor. Attendees will need a high speed web-connection as well as camera with microphone to participate interactively in the class.
Register online or call toll-free 1-888-700-6543. There is a fee for this class

Complete Lactation Care: Our Advanced Practice Provider Lactation Consultants provide individualized, one-to-one appointments, available in person or through video visits. Our experts work with those who are having issues with feeding their babies due to poor weight gain, latching difficulties, low milk supply, sore/cracked nipples, mastitis and over supply. Partners are welcome and encouraged to participate.
The initial consultation includes a confidential discussion of the medical history of parent, baby and birth story. Our lactation consultant will then provide an assessment and provide recommendations, along with a written detailed plan. Appointments generally last an hour. In person appointments can also include bilirubin and weight checks.
Our team also provides prenatal visits and plans for patients who may be at risk for breastfeeding issues; including those with a history of breastfeeding/chestfeeding issues, breast surgery or endocrine disorders.
Most insurance is accepted. Yale Health Plan patients require prior authorization. To schedule an appointment, call 203-688-MILK (6455).
Video Visit Consultations are done in the comfort and safety of your home using a smartphone or tablet.
